A financial fraud complaint has been filed against the makers of RDX: Robert Dony Xavier (2023). Anjana Abraham, a resident of Tripunithura, has lodged a complaint with the Hill Palace Police in Kochi against the film's producers, Sophia Paul and James Paul.

Reportedly, the complainant alleges that the producers of RDX failed to honour their commitment to distributing profits to the stakeholders. Anjana claims to have invested Rs 6 crore in the film's production after being assured of a full return on investment and a 30% share of total profits. Despite repeated requests, her complaint states that she only received her initial investment. The police have commenced an investigation into the alleged fraud.

RDX, directed by Nahas Hidayath, was released on August 25, 2023, and became one of the biggest successes of that year in Malayalam. The film features Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav in the titular lead roles. It also stars Babu Antony, Lal, Mahima Nambiar, Aima Rosmy Sebastian, Vishnu Agasthya, Maala Parvathi, Nishanth Sagar, Sujith Shankar, and Baiju, among others.

Earlier, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) questioned the makers of Manjummel Boys, including actor-producer Soubin Shahir, about a financial fraud case over disputes in profit sharing. The agency is now gathering financial information on all successful films produced in Malayalam over the past five years.
