Kappela director Muhammed Musthafa's next film has been titled Mura. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kani Kusruti, Maala Parvathi, Kannan Nayar and Hridhu Haroon star in it. Others in the cast include Jobin Das, Annujith Kannan,  Yedhu Krishna, Vigneshwar Suresh, Krish Hassan and Siby Joseph.

Mura is scripted by Suresh Babu. Produced by Riya Shibu's HR Pictures, the film's shooting is currently progressing in Thiruvananthapuram. It has cinematography by Fazil Nassar, editing by Chaman Chakko and music by Midhun Mukundan.

Musthafa, an actor-turned-filmmaker, made his directorial debut in 2020 with Kappela, starring Anna Ben, Roshan Mathew and Sreenath Bhasi. Though the film was only a moderate success at the box office, it got noticed widely after its digital release on Netflix. It was selected for screening at the 2020 editions of the IFFI and IFFK. The film also won Anna Ben the Kerala state award for best actress, while Musthafa was chosen as the best debut director.
