The trailer of writer Abijith Asokan's directorial debut Jananam 1947 Pranayam Thudarunnu is now out on YouTube. The trailer starts by introducing its 70-year-old heroine and hero, Leela Samson and Jayarajan Kozhikode, respectively. It draws attention to the fact that Leela, a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, is a Padma Shri awardee, and highlights the awards that the movie won last year at various film festivals. The main cast of the film also includes Anu Sithara, Deepak Parambol, Noby Marcose, and Irshad Ali.

Abijith is the co-writer of Kolumittayi, which won Best Children's Film at the 2017 Kerala State Awards. The trailer of Jananam 1947 Pranayam Thudarunnu hints at a lighthearted film, which tells the love story between the characters of its septuagenarian actors. The film has music by Govind Vasantha, cinematography by Santhosh Anima, and editing by Kiran Das. Abijith is also co-producing it with Ramu Remanan, Anu Sithara, Santhosh Anima, Arun Viswam, and Aneesh under the banner of Crayons Pictures.
