Censor board to decide on Dileep's Thankamani renaming petition

CE Features

The Central Board of Film Certification has been asked to make a call on a Kerala High Court petition that seeks to have the upcoming Dileep-starrer Thankmani retitled. Without issuing a stay order on its censorship proceedings, the court left it to the board to make the right call after watching the movie. Previously, the court asked the central government whether the board was authorised to rename a film if the original title was likely to create problems concerning law and order or was perceived to be stigmatic.

The film is written and directed by Ratheesh Raghunandan, and it stars Dileep, Neeta Pillai, Pranitha Subhash, Sudev Nair, Ajmal Ameer, Shine Tom Chacko, and Siddique. Meanwhile, its producers, Super Good Films and Raaffi Mathirra, are waiting for censor board approval before they can announce the date of release.
