Earlier, we had reported that filmmaker Aashiq Abu would helm an upcoming film titled Rifle Club, headlined by Dileesh Pothan and Soubin Shahir. It has now been learned that acclaimed filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap will be playing the antagonist in the film.

Produced by Aashiq Abu's OPM Cinemas, Rifle Club has a script penned by Suhas, Sharfu and Dileesh Karunakaran. It is worth mentioning that Suhas-Sharfu earlier collaborated with Aashiq in Virus, while Dileesh co-wrote the director's Salt N' Pepper, Da Thadiya, Idukki Gold and Mayaanadhi. Dileesh and Aashiq are also collaborating for another upcoming film, Lovely. While Dileesh directs the Mathew Thomas-starrer, Aashiq is debuting as a cinematographer in the film.

Rifle Club's technical crew comprises music director Rex Vijayan, veteran editor V Saajan, art director Ajayan Chalissery, makeup artist Ronex Xavier and costume designer Mashar Hamsa.

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap was last seen in a cameo role in the Vijay-starrer Leo. He has an upcoming Tamil film, One 2 One, in which he will co-star with actor-filmmaker Sundar C in the pipeline. On the directorial front, his last directorial venture was the neo-noir thriller Kennedy.
