As Unni Mukundan's Marco continues its blockbuster run at the box office, ace filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has shared on his X handle that he is "dying to watch the film". Along with that, he also added that he has "never heard more shocking praise for any film more than Marco."

Acknowledging the tweet, Unni Mukundan replied saying, "Thank you Sir. The team is eagerly looking forward to see your feedback. I’m also a diehard Satya fan."

Ever since its release on December 20, Marco has been making a lot of noise. Billed as the most violent Indian film ever, it opened to polarising response from critics, with many praising its technical aspects, while criticising its writing and the insensitive portrayal of violence. However, that doesn't seem to have affected the box office collections, with the makers announcing that the film has already breached the Rs 50 crore mark from its global collections.

Trade reports suggest that Marco's Hindi version is also doing good business. As claimed by the makers, it has smashed the existing record of Prithviraj's Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) to become the highest grossing Hindi version of a Malayalam film ever. Meanwhile, Marco's Telugu version is set to be released on New Year's Day.

Marco is a revenge thriller directed by Haneef Adeni and produced by Shareef Muhammed. The film also stars Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, and Yukti Thareja.

Besides release in multiple languages, the makers are also contemplating sequel plans. In a recent media interaction, Unni Mukundan revealed that the film will be getting a sequel once they land on a solid idea.
