Unni Mukundan has revealed that his latest film Marco will be getting a sequel. During a recent media interaction, the actor stated that while production plans for the sequel remain uncertain, it is expected to materialise after a brief interval, allowing him to fulfil his current commitments. He further added that the film’s director, Haneef Adeni, will begin work on the project once a suitable story is developed.

Marco reportedly sets the stage for the sequel with a lead provided at the conclusion. An extremely violent actioner, it serves as a spin-off of Haneef's 2018 film Mikhael, in which Nivin played the titular character, while Unni portrayed the antagonist Marco Jr.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics upon its release on December 20, Marco is currently drawing packed audiences in theatres across Kerala and beyond. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Jagadish, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, Arjun Nandakumar, Durva Thaker, Yukti Tareja, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Ishan Shoukath, and Siddique, among others. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj, editing by Shameer Muhammed, and a soundtrack by Ravi Basrur, best known for his work on the Kannada blockbuster franchise KGF.
