Shareef Muhammed, who is making his production debut with the upcoming Unni Mukundan-starrer Marco, has confirmed holding talks with Mammootty for a new film. The producer recently took to social media to share a brief note in which he mentioned that "discussions with Mammookka are currently in the planning and discussion phase." While requesting not to spread rumours, he also added that an official announcement will be made once everything is confirmed.

Mammootty is currently shooting for Mahesh Narayanan's film, tentatively titled MMMN. Hyped as one of the biggest Malayalam films in recent years, it also stars Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara.

Mammootty also has three other films gearing up for release. One of them is directed by debutant Jithin K Jose. Also starring Vinayakan, it reportedly has Mammootty in a grey-shaded role. The star's other upcoming releases include Dominic And The Ladies' Purse, which marks the Malayalam directorial debut of Gautham Vasudev Menon, and the long-delayed thriller Bazooka, helmed by newcomer Deeno Dennis.
