On Tuesday, Mukesh faced a new allegation of inappropriate behaviour. Sandhya, a junior artist, has accused Mukesh of misconduct towards her friend’s mother during a visit to their home, which resulted in him being asked to leave.
Earlier, actress Minu Muneer made a public statement on Monday, alleging that Mukesh demanded sexual favours in exchange for membership in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). She has announced her intention to file a formal complaint on Tuesday.
These accusations follow earlier claims by casting director Tess Joseph, who previously accused Mukesh of inappropriate behaviour during an event several years ago. Mukesh has categorically denied all allegations, dismissing them as part of a political conspiracy.
In response to these developments, the police have initiated efforts to contact those who have raised complaints of sexual harassment through social media and the media. A special investigation team is set to hold its first meeting today to decide on the next course of action.
Meanwhile, Sandhya also revealed that she has faced threats from production controllers and casting directors, warning her that non-compliance with their demands would result in her being sidelined from the film industry. She expressed concern over the widespread nature of this issue and admitted that she had previously remained silent out of fear of isolation. Sandhya further highlighted ongoing discrimination in the industry, including disparities in pay and even the provision of food.
