Aashirvad Cinemas' owner Antony Perumbavoor shared a photograph featuring himself with Mohanlal and Mammootty on social media earlier today. In the caption of the post, he mentioned the names of his and Mammotty's production banners with a handshake emoji and an hourglass symbol, hinting at a collaboration between the two that is long overdue. Mammootty has appeared in a cameo role in only one Aashirvad Cinemas production, the blockbuster film Narasimham, starring Mohanlal. He is yet to play a lead role in a film produced by Aashirvad Cinemas.

Further details about the collaboration are awaited in the coming days. But the image itself has created plenty of buzz among fans on social media who have long been waiting it to happen.

Mammootty was last seen in the Vysakh directorial Turbo. His upcoming projects include Bazooka, directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, the son of popular screenwriter Kaloor Dennis.

On the other hand, Aashirvad Cinemas' upcoming films include Barroz, starring Mohanlal in his directorial debut, and L2: Empuraan, Prithviraj Sukumaran's sequel to the 2019 Mohanlal starrer Lucifer.
