Mohanlal's directorial debut Barroz gets a release date

Billed as a 3D fantasy adventure, Barroz is based on Jijo Punnoose's novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure

Mohanlal has announced the release date for his directorial debut film Barroz while sharing a new poster for it on Instagram. The 3D fantasy film will hit the screens on October 03. Earlier, the film was scheduled for an Onam release. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, it also features Mohanlal in the titular role. The cast also includes Kallirroi Tziafeta, Ignacio Mateos, and Cesar Lorente Raton.

Billed as a 3D fantasy adventure, Barroz is based on Jijo Punnoose's novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure and has dialogues penned by Kalavoor Ravikumar. It has cinematography Santosh Sivan, sound design by Jonathan Miller, production design by Santhosh Raman, and editing B Ajithkumar. It has music by Lydian Nadhaswaram, the young pianist to win the American television talent show The World’s Best, and background music by Hollywood composer Mark Kilian. Filmmaker TK Rajeev Kumar served as a creative head for Barroz.

Also in the pipeline for Mohanlal is Tharun Moorthy's directorial, tentatively titled L 360, opposite Shobana, L2: Empuraan with director-actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Jeethu Joseph's Ram. In other languages, he has a role in the Manchu Vishnu starrer Kannappa and Kannada filmmaker Nanda Kishore's Vrushaba.
