Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vinayakan are coming together for Thekku Vadakku, first look of which was out on Saturday. The poster exudes vibes of a comedy entertainer as it features both the actors striking a funny dance pose. Earlier, a teaser was released, which had both the actors as senior citizens in loggerheads with each other.

Thekku Vadakku is directed by Prem Shankar, who earlier helmed Randuper, which featured in the Competition Section of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in 2017. The upcoming film has Vinayakan playing Madhavan, a retired KSEB engineer, while Suraj plays Shankunni, a sawmill owner. According to the makers, Thekku Vadakku revolves around an "unconventional relationship" between these two individuals. It is scripted by S Hareesh, based on his story Ratri Kaval. Hareesh is a well-known literary figure, who has also scripted Lijo Jose Pellissery's films, Jallikattu, Churuli, and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.

Thekku Vadakku also stars Kottayam Ramesh, Merin Jose, Melvin G Babu, Shameer Khan, Vineeth Viswam, Sneha, and Sheethal, among others. Sam CS is the composer, while Suresh Rajan and Kiran Das handle the cinematography and edits, respectively. Anjana Talkies and Odiyan director VA Shrikumar's VARS Studios are producing the upcoming film, which targets an Onam release.
