Thangalaan Kerala promotion event cancelled; money to be donated for Wayanad landslide relief

Sree Gokulam Movies, the banner which acquired the Kerala distribution rights of Vikram-starrer Thangalaan, has decided to cancel the state promotion event and instead help the victims of the Wayanad landslide tragedy. Through an official statement, it has been informed that "the cost of the promotion program will be given to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund." Notably, Vikram was among the first to come forward to support the cause by donating Rs 25 lakhs.

Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, is slated for a grand worldwide release on August 15. The film, set in the pre-Independence era, is a historical adventure that narrates the role of oppressed communities in the exploration of gold in the Kolar region in South India. It also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Hari Krishnan. Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green Entertainment, the film is up for release in multiple languages.
