Bharathanatyam, which sees Saiju Kurup doubling up as the lead actor and producer, is gearing up for release on August 23. The makers shared its trailer on Saturday, from which it looks like a comedy centered around a joint family. Earlier, while speaking to us, the film's writer-director Krishnadas Murali called it a light-hearted entertainer set in a rural backdrop. According to him, the film focuses on a Nair mansion and its family, who take great pride in their heritage and are excessively conscious of it.
Bharathanatyam stars Saikumar, Divya M Nair, Kalaranjini, Swathi Das Prabhu, Sruthy Suresh, Nandu Poduval, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and Manikanan Pattambi in key roles. It has cinematography by Bablu Aju, music by Samuel Aby, and editing by Shadeeque VB.
Recently, Saiju's Porattu Naadakam, originally slated to hit screens on August 9, got postponed in the wake of the Wayanad landslides. The makers are yet to announce a new release date. The actor is also part of Anand Sreebala, Abhilasham, and Written and Directed by God. He is also making his digital debut by headlining Sony LIV's upcoming web series Jai Mahendran.
