Arya's next with Tiyaan makers Jiyen Krishnakumar and Murali Gopy launched

On Wednesday, Malayalam actor-screenwriter Murali Gopy announced his latest film as a writer and actor, headlined by Tamil actor Arya. The pooja ceremony was held at the Uthirakosamangai Temple in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, as revealed by Murali on social media. The untitled film is directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, who previously collaborated with Murali on the Prithviraj Sukumaran-Indrajith Sukumaran starrer Tiyaan.

The upcoming film, a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, also stars Santhy Balachandran, Nikhila Vimal, Saritha Kukku, Indrans, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Appani Sarath, Sabumon Abdusamad, among others from Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu industries. It is produced by S Vinod Kumar under the banner of Mini Studio, who earlier backed the Vishal-SJ Suryah starrer Mark Antony (2023). More details regarding the film's plot and technical crew are awaited.

Arya, last seen in a cameo appearance in Santhosh P Jayakumar's The Boys, had recently completed filming for Manu Anand's Mr X, an action drama also starring Manju Warrier and Gautham Karthik. In addition, Arya is producing the fourth instalment in the Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise, featuring Santhanam. Recently, he also co-produced Jay K's Malayalam film Grrr, featuring Kunchacko Boban and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead.

Meanwhile, the filming of Murali’s upcoming project as a writer, Empuraan, is in progress. It is the much-anticipated sequel to Lucifer (2019), headlined by Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj. As an actor, Murali was last seen in Kanakarajyam, alongside Indrans.
