Mammootty's Kannur Squad gets release date

The film marks the directorial debut of Roby Varghese Raj

Mammootty took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, on Thursday, announcing that his upcoming film Kannur Squad is all set to hit theatres on September 28. Additionally, he also revealed that the film has cleared censorship formalities with a U/A certificate. 

Kannur Squad, which marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj, is a crime-thriller in which Mammootty reportedly plays the role of an ASI.

Rony David Raj, Shabareesh Varma, Azeez Nedumanga, Deepak Parambol, Sajin Cherukayil, and Gibin Gopinath also star in the film, which is said to be based on true events. Muhammed Shafi has penned the story, while he has co-written the screenplay with actor Rony David.

Kannur Squad has cinematography by Muhammed Rahil and music by Sushin Shyam. It is backed by Mammootty's home production banner Mammootty Kampany.
