Mammootty has completed shooting for his portions in Bramayugam. The film, directed by Bhoothakaalam-fame Rahul Sadasivan, is billed as a rooted horror story set in the dark ages of Kerala. Mammootty is reportedly playing the antagonist's role of a sorcerer in it. Earlier this month, on his birthday, the makers had shared his look in which he was seen with a devilish smile.

Bramayugam is scripted by director Rahul with dialogues by award-winning novelist TD Ramakrishnan. Christo Xavier is composing music for the film, which also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz. It is the maiden venture of Y Not Studios' newly launched banner, Night Shift Studios, which focuses exclusively on horror thrillers. Slated for an early 2024 release, the film will be out in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages simultaneously.

Mammootty will be next seen in Kannur Squad, which is eyeing release later this month. If reports are to be believed, the veteran will soon start shooting for Vysakh's film, scripted by Midhun Manuel Thomas.
