We had earlier reported about Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine reuniting for the sequel of Action Hero Biju. The actor-director duo was spotted recently having discussions as part of the film's pre-production. Nivin's Pauly Jr Pictures is producing the film.

Action Hero Biju, released in 2016, followed the everyday activities of Sub-Inspector Biju Paulose and his colleagues at a city police station. Besides emerging as a box office success, the film also garnered critics' praise for its authentic portrayal of an ordinary cop's routine and the performances of the actors, most of whom were newcomers. It is learnt that the makers are eyeing to continue the same formula in the sequel by roping in a host of fresh faces. The team has already conducted several auditions to find suitable actors.

Nivin Pauly, last seen in Ramachandra Boss & Co, next has Dijo Jose Antony's film coming up. He is also part of Vineeth Sreenivasan's upcoming multistarrer directorial, Varshangalku Shesham. Nivin also has the Tamil film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, co-starring Soori and Anjali, in the pipeline.
