Kaalan Puli song from Mammootty- starrer Kannur Squad has been released online recently. Composed by Sushin Shyam with lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar, the song has been sung by Amal Jose and Sushin Shyam.

Directed by cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj, marking his directorial debut, the investigative thriller is inspired by the real story of a group of policemen called the Kannur Squad, who were entrusted with solving challenging cases. 

The film hit the theatres on September 28 and largely opened to positive response. An excerpt from the CE review of the film read, "Mammootty takes charge efficiently, successfully. The most stimulating aspect of the script is how it explores the manner in which its characters handle strong emotions".

The film also stars Rony David Raj, Shabareesh Varma, Azeez Nedumanga, Deepak Parambol, Sajin Cherukayil, and Gibin Gopinath, among others. Kannur Squad  has a story penned by Muhammed Shafi, and he, along with Rony David, co-wrote the script.
