Asif Ali, who was shooting for Tiki Taka, suffered a severe ACL injury forcing the team to halt production for the time being. According to the film's director Rohith VS, Asif had been training for the past six months to attain the bodily attributes of his character John Denver. It was while shooting for the film's first action setpiece that he met with the injury. The actor has been advised three months post-surgical rest, after which only the team will be able to resume shooting.

Earlier in a conversation with us, Asif had spoken about how he is undergoing a physical transformation for the first time in his career. He pinned hopes on Tiki Taka as he called it a "unique Sherlocks Holmes-kind of film." It marks his reunion with Rohith after Adventures of Omanakuttan and Ibilis. Yadhu Pushkaran, Niyog and Firoz Najeeb are scripting the film, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Lukman Avaran, Naslen, Sanchana Natarajan, Harisree Asokan and Santhosh Prathap.

Asif Ali next has A Ranjith Cinema lined up for release. The film, directed by Nishanth Sattu, is set to hit screens on December 8.
