Veteran actor Indrans, who had to drop out of school due to financial constraints in seventh grade, is preparing himself to appear for Class X equalisation examination next year.

Citing the reasons for his decision, the 67-year-old says being illiterate is akin to being blind and now he said he wants to "see" the world . With the aim of clearing the Class X examination, Indrans now attends the Sunday classes held at a state-run school near his home in Thiruvananthapuram.

Indrans has been part of the Malayalam film industry for over four decades, both as an actor and costume designer. Earlier this year, he bagged the National Film Awards - Special Mention for his performance in Home. Besides that, he is also a two time Kerala State Award recipient.
