As Garudan entered its second successful week of theatrical run, its producer Listin Stephen gifted a KIA Seltos car to the film's director Arun Varma. Sharing photos of handing over the car, Listin wrote on social media,
Hard work, dedication, and infinite gratitude! Thrilled to gift this car to Arun Varma, the talented director behind the blockbuster Garudan movie. Your vision brought magic to the big screen and your passion touched hearts. Cheers to you, Arun Varma, and here's to many more milestones together!
Of late, it has become a common practice for producers to gift cars to directors and lead actors following a film's success. Though more common in Tamil industry, the trend has now caught up in Malayalam as well. Last year, actor-producer Unni Mukundan had gifted a Mercedes Benz to Meppadiyan director Vishnu Mohan.
Garudan, which hit screens on November 3, stars Biju Menon and Suresh Gopi as the leads. A crime thriller, the film has its story by Jinesh M and screenplay by Midhun Manuel Thomas. As per trade reports, it has grossed over 21 crores so far. In a recent conversation with us, director Arun Varma also hinted at the possibility of a sequel.
