As Kaathal gears up for release on November 23, its makers dropped the first single on Saturday. The song, Ennum En Kaaval is a beautiful melody sung by veterans G Venugopal and KS Chithra. The visuals in the lyric video chronicle the married life of the lead characters played by Mammootty and Jyotika. The latter is coming back to Malayalam after several years. She last appeared in the TK Rajeev Kumar directorial Seetha Kalyanam (2009).
 

Kaathal is directed by Jeo Baby, best known for his thought-provoking social commentary, The Great Indian Kitchen. It is scripted by RDX-fame Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria. The duo also co-wrote Neymar, which was released earlier this year. 

Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Akku and Josi Sijo also star in Kaathal. Mathews Pulickal serves as the composer and cinematography is by Salu K Thomas.

Apart from theatre release, the film has also been picked for screening at this year's IFFI and IFFK.
