On the first release anniversary of his directorial debut Mukundan Unni Associates (MUA), Abhinav Sunder Nayak has announced his next. The director assured that "those who liked MUA, will love the second film." Ashiq Usman will be producing the film, which is still in the scripting the stage. He took to social media to share his excitement about the project, more details regarding which will be out later.

Abhinav, an editor-turned-filmmaker, was a former assistant to Vineeth Sreenivasan. He also edited films like Anandam, Godha, Uriyadi and Kurangu Bommai. His maiden directorial, MUA, which he co-wrote and co-edited, was much-talked about, particularly for the unabashed portrayal of its protagonist, a scheming advocate, played by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Abhinav has also confirmed its sequel.

Meanwhile, Ashiq Usman has a few other interesting films lined up. He is currently producing the Biju Menon's Thundu, directed by debutant Riyas Shereef. Fahadh Faasil's Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira with Althaf Salim, Jayasurya's next directed by Thallumaala actor Austin Dan, and an Asif Ali-Soubin Shahir starrer with debutant Nahas Nazar, are some of his other upcoming projects.
