Nithin Renji Panicker, who made Kasaba and Kaaval, will next helm a web series for Disney+Hotstar. Scripted by Nithin himself, the upcoming series is reportedly a fun show with a period setting.
It has Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Grace Antony as the leads. Shwetha Menon, Niranjana Anoop, Kani Kusruti, and Prashanth Alexander also star in it. National award winner Nikhil S Praveen, who also shot Nithin's Kaaval, will handle the cinematography. The makers are planning to begin shooting in June.
Disney+Hotstar has been showing an increasing interest in Malayalam content lately with three web series already lined up. The streamer's maiden Malayalam series Kerala Crime Files is gearing up for its premiere in June. Directed by Ahammed Khabeer of June and Madhuram-fame, the thriller show has Aju Varghese and Lal as the leads.
Debutant Praveen Chandran is helming another series with Sunny Wayne and Nikhila Vimal. It is directed by debutant Praveen Chandran and scripted by Deepu Pradeep. Produced by E4 Entertainment, the yet-to-be-titled comedy series is currently in the post-production stage.
The third show in the making is 1000+ Babies starring Rahman and Neena Gupta. It is directed by Najeem Koya and produced by August Cinema.
