We had earlier reported about Fahadh Faasil, Aparna Balamurali and Roshan Mathew starring in Dhoomam, a multilingual film helmed by Kannada director Pawan Kumar. Backed by Hombale Films, it is a much-hyped project thanks to the names involved. In a recent conversation with us, Roshan assured us that it will be something ‘unique and different’. "It is a story that takes place in different timelines, and it is unlike anything we have seen before."

Pawan Kumar is noted for helming acclaimed Kannada films like Lucia and U Turn. Before signing Fahadh Faasil, the director was in talks with Kannada actors like Ganesh, Dhananjay, and Rakshit Shetty for the project, but things didn't work out due to various reasons. Pawan's regular collaborator Poornachandra Tejaswi is composing the music in Dhoomam, while Preetha Jayaraman handles the cinematography.
