Music director NP Prabhakaran passes away

He has worked in films like Poonilavu, Alakananda, Anappara Achama, Ival Droupadi and Anuyathra

Well-known music director and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi awardee NP Prabhakaran passed away on Friday. According to reports, he suffered a heart attack on the train journey to Thiruvananthapuram from Kozhikkode. He was 75. The railway officials took him to the nearest private hospital, where he was declared dead. Prabhakaran was also an active persona in Kerala's political and cultural environment. He was a chaperone to many talents, including singer Sithara Krishnakumar. 

Many popular singers, including Yesudas, P Jayachandran, Unni Menon, and Sujatha, have sung in Prabhakaran's compositions. He has worked in films like Poonilavu, Alakananda, Anappara Achama, Ival Droupadi and Anuyathra. The funeral will be conducted at Kottayam on Saturday at 2 PM.
