Anoop Menon is headlining a new film titled Checkmate, the title poster of which was unveiled on Friday. Veteran actor Lal and Rekha Harindran play the other leads in the film, which has been completely shot in New York. According to Anoop, it is a mind game thriller exploring the vagaries of power and wealth.

Checkmate has Ratish Sekhar donning multiple hats as its writer, director, cinematographer and composer. Prejish Prakash is the editor and Steven Schumann is handling the background score.

Anoop Menon also has a few other projects lined up. He is playing the lead in a political satire titled Thimingala Vetta. He is also part of the Indrajith-starrer Njan Kandatha Sir'e and the Midhun Manuel Thomas-scripted horror thriller, Phoenix. Anoop is also working on his directorial Oh Cinderalla, which has Bigg Boss-fame Dilsha as the lead.
