As Empuraan, the sequel to the blockbuster Mohanlal-Prithviraj film Lucifer, gets ready to commence production, several speculations are doing rounds about its cast. While Mohanlal and Prithviraj are certain to reprise their roles from the first part, the makers are yet to share any details about the other actors. In an exclusive conversation with Cinema Express, actor Nandu confirmed that he will be part of the film. He will be reprising his character of PS Peethambaran, a politican.

Interestingly, Nandu owned the now-famous Landmaster car used by Mohanlal's character Stephen Nedumbally in Lucifer. When asked if the car will also make a return in Empuraan, he revealed that he had sold the car to Prithviraj during the shoot of Lucifer itself.

Meanwhile, the makers of Empuraan are planning to begin shooting by August. The makers have retained almost the same technical team from Lucifer, which includes cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, composer Deepak Dev and action choreographer Stunt Silva.
