We had earlier reported about Asif Ali and Mamta Mohandas playing the leads in Maheshum Maruthiyum. The makers have got the film censored with a U certificate. The makers are expected to announce the release date soon.

Scriptwriter Sethu, who made his directorial debut with the Mammootty-starrer Oru Kuttanadan Blog, is helming Maheshum Maruthiyum. Billed as a romantic comedy, the film is centered around a Maruti 800 model car and the characters played by Asif and Mamta. Since the car is an essential part of the story and has a bond with the main characters, the makers have used a restored 1983 version of the Maruti 800.

The film is backed by actor Maniyanpilla Raju's production house in association with VSL Film House.
