Mohanlal's latest release Neru has crossed the 50 crore mark, announced the makers on Friday. As per their claims, the film has grossed over Rs 50 crores from its worldwide run.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Neru is an emotional courtroom drama in which Mohanlal plays an advocate named Vijayamohan. Jeethu and advocate Santhi Mayadevi have scripted the film, which revolves around a visually challenged rape survivor and her family's fight for justice. Anaswara Rajan essays the part of the young woman.

Ever since its release on December 1, Neru has been gaining mostly positive response with particular praise for Jeethu's sensitive handling of the subject and the performances of Mohanlal and Anaswara. Jagadish, Santhi, Siddique, Priyamani and Sankar Induchoodan also star in it.

Mohanlal will be next seen in the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial Malaikottai Vaaliban, which is scheduled to be released on 25 January 2024, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend.
