Earlier, we reported that actor Nivin Pauly would join forces with filmmaker Dijo Jose Antony for an upcoming Malayalam film tentatively titled NP 43. On the occasion of Christmas on Monday, the makers revealed the title and promo video of the film. The film is now called Malayalee from India. 

In the six-minute promo video, we see Dijo bluffing his way through the film's story to convince Nivin to do the film. Every aspect he describes about the setting and characters of the film turns out to be entirely different in reality. 

Anaswara Rajan will be seen as Nivin's love interest in Malayalee from India. The film also boasts an ensemble supporting cast consisting of Dhyan Sreenivasan, Manju Pillai, Shine Tom Chacko, Salim Kumar, and Vijayakumar. 

It is to be noted that Malayalee from India marks the first time collaboration between the actor and the director. The upcoming project is Dijo's third directorial venture after Queen (2018) and last year's much-acclaimed Prithviraj-starrer Jana Gana Mana. 

Speculating to be political satire, the upcoming film is penned by Sharis Mohammed, who also wrote Jana Gana Mana. The makers also announced that the film will only be released in Malayalam, reaffirming that it is not a pan-Indian film. 

Backed by Nivin's Pauly Jr Pictures and Listin Stephen's Magic Frames, Malayalee from India's technical team consists of Sudeep Elamon behind the camera and Sreejith Sarang at the editing table. Jakes Bejoy will be composing the music. A release date is yet to be announced.
