The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Thankamani, starring Dileep in the lead role, unveiled a new song titled Penninte Peralla on Saturday. Composed and sung by William Francis, the song has lyrics penned by B T Anil Kumar. 

Directed by Udal-fame Ratheesh Reghunandan, the film is based on the real-life incident of a brutal clash between cops and villagers in the Idukki village of Thankamani in 1986. It is alleged that the villagers were subject to severe police brutality, including sexual assault on several women.

Produced by R B Choudhry under the banner of Super Good Films in association with Iffaar Media Raaffi Mathirra, Thankamani has Pranitha Subhash and Neeta Pillai as the female leads. Manoj K Jayan, Sudev Nair, Malavika Menon, Ajmal Ameer, Shine Tom Chacko, Siddique, John Vijay, Sampath, Kottayam Ramesh, and Major Ravi are also part of the cast.
