Malayalam film industry is currently in a state of grief after the untimely passing away of writer-director. The veteran breathed his last on Tuesday after being hospitalised for over three weeks. Several prominent figures from the film industry and the political sphere paid their tributes to Siddique.

Siddique, who last directed Big Brother in 2020, was next planning to make a film titled Doctor Mad with Mammoootty. Dubai-based novelist Asi was associated with Siddique in the film's scripting. The two also had plans to make a Hindi-Arabic-English web series based on Asi's novel, Camp Cropper. According to Asi, they have been working on the two scripts for over a year before Siddique's condition worsened and had to be hospitalised.
