We had earlier reported about Mammootty collaborating with Bhoothakaalam director Rahul Sadasivan for a horror film. As per the latest reports, the film will have Mammootty in a negative role. Arjun Ashokan essays the other lead in the film, which is set to go on floors later this month. Kollywood-based production house Y Not Studios is debuting in Malayalam with this yet-to-be-titled film. 

Mammootty has earlier played negative roles in films like Vidheyan and Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha. More recently, he was seen in grey-shaded characters in Rorschach and Puzhu. The actor, who recently wrapped up his portions in Bazooka, will soon be shooting for a cameo role in the ongoing Jayaram-Midhun Maneul film Ozler.

Mammootty's other upcoming films include Kaathal and Kannur Squad, both of which are currently in post-production.
