It was earlier reported that director Ahammed Khabeer, who is known for directing June and Madhuram, will be directing the first-ever Malayalam web series for Disney+ Hotstar. 

Recently, the makers announced that the series is titled Kerala Crime Files. Billed as an investigative crime thriller, the first look hints that the series will follow a gruesome murder that happened at a lodging called Grand Tourist Home. The series would unfold with how the cops are cracking the case with zero leads. 

Written by Ashiq Aimar, Kerala Crime Files stars Aju Varghese and Lal. It is produced by Rahul Riji Nair under the First Print Studios banner. The technical crew includes director of photography Jithin Stanislaus, music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, editor Mahesh Bhuvanend, production designer Prathap Raveendran and art director Satheesh Nellaya.
