After almost 75 days of strenuous shooting, the makers of the upcoming Mohanlal-Lijo Jose Pellissery film Malaikottai Vaaliban have wrapped up the Rajasthan schedule. Mohanlal will reportedly take a small vacation before joining the final schedule of Jeethu Joseph's Ram. The next schedule of Malaikottai Vaaliban, which is said to be planned in Chennai, will be commencing in May.

Malaikottai Vaaliban is a highly-anticipated film that marks the first collaboration of Mohanlal and Lijo. The film has the superstar playing the role of a wrestler from the pre-Independence era. Manikandan Achari, Danish Sait, Hareesh Peradi, and Sonalee Kulkarni also star in the film. It is scripted by PS Rafeeque, who earlier wrote Lijo's Nayakan (2010) and Amen (2013). John & Mary Creative, Amen Movie Monastery, Century Films, and Max Lab are jointly backing the film.
