Mammootty has always been known for his interest in working with young, promising filmmakers. If reports are to be believed, the veteran is in talks with Rahul Sadasivan of Bhoothakaalam-fame for a new film. It is said that the two are planning a horror film, which will reportedly mark the Malayalam debut of Kollywood-based production house YNOT Studios. The banner is known for backing novel-yet-successful films like Irudhi Suttru, Vikram Vedha, Game Over, and Mandela.
Rahul Sadasivan's Bhoothakaalam is considered one of the finest horror films ever made in Malayalam cinema. It will be interesting to see him collaborate with a superstar like Mammootty, who has lately been on a purple patch of sorts.
He is currently shooting for Kannur Squad, a crime thriller, which marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj. After its completion, Mammootty will start working on a film to be helmed by Deen Dennis, also a debutant.
