We had earlier reported about Dileep reuniting with his Ramaleela director Arun Gopy. The film, which marks the Malayalam debut of Tamannaah Bhatia, has got another major addition to its cast. Veteran Tamil actor Sarath Kumar will be seen in a prominent role in the film. Arun Gopy welcomed Sarath Kumar to the team by sharing a photo taken with him on Facebook. The latter was last seen in Malayalam in the 2014-released Asha Black. He has previously acted with Dileep in Christian Brothers (2011).

Tentatively titled D147, the upcoming film is produced by Vinayaka Ajith under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films. Udaykrishna is scripting the film, which has been planned as a big-budget pan-Indian project. Many other leading actors from South Indian languages and Bollywood are also expected to feature in the film, which has Gujarat, Mumbai, and Jharkhand as the main locations. The narrative is set in North India as per a source close to production.

Arun Gopy has retained his Ramaleela collaborators Shajikumar and Vivek Harshan to handle the camera and editing, respectively. Sam CS is the music director.
