Mammootty on Friday wrapped up shooting for his portions in Kaathal, the upcoming film directed by Jeo Baby. 

Sharing photos from the sets, Mammootty wrote, "Completed my portions for Kaathal The Core. Enjoyed working with a very vibrant team."While one of the photos had Mammootty with the director, other photos featured the actor with Jyotika and others serving food to the team members.

Earlier, the makers released the first look poster of Kaathal. The poster featured both actors sitting on the verandah of the house. While Jyothika looks elegant in a saree, Mammootty looks dashing in a mundu and shirt. It is also reported that Mammootty plays a politician named Mathew Devassy, an election candidate from a left-wing party.

The film is produced by Mammotty's home production banner Mammootty Kampany and Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films banner is distributing it. The film also stars Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Akku, Josi Sijo and Adarsh Sukumaran. The script is penned by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria.

Jeo Baby brings back his technical crew of The Great Indian Kitchen, consisting of cinematographer Salu K Thomas, editor Francies Louis and music director Mathews Pulickal, for Kaathal.
