Kerala theatre owners impose ban on Dulquer Salmaan

CE Features

As per reports, the Kerala film exhibitors organisation, FEUOK, has imposed a ban on Dulquer Salmaan and his production company Wayfarer Films on account of reneging on the promise of releasing his new feature, Salute, in theatres.

The film was earlier supposed to release on the big screen on January 14, but it was later announced that the makers had opted for a direct-to-digital premiere on SonyLIV. Now, ahead of its stream date (March 18), the theatre owners have expressed their discontent and decided to no longer associate with Wayfarer Films.

Earlier, Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas had run into a similar issue when he announced that Mohanlal-starrer Drishyam 2 would be released virtually instead.
