Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran recently announced that he is collaborating with music composer Ravi Basrur for his upcoming film Kaaliyan.

In his Instagram post, he wrote “Welcome to Kaaliyan Ravi Basrur!” The music composer rose to fame with the KGF franchise. He will be reuniting with filmmaker Prashanth Neel for Salaar.

Billed as an action entertainer, Kaaliyan is directed by martial arts expert and former journalist S Mahesh and scripted by BT Anilkumar.

In an earlier conversation with Cinema Express, the film’s production consultant Vipin Kumar said, "It's an episode in the life of a man who lived in the 1600s. So it's a purely character-driven action extravaganza. And there is plenty of action! Aside from the titular character played by Prithviraj, the story contains many other strong characters (as in Game of Thrones)."

The film’s camera is handled by Sujith Vaassudev, who earlier worked with Prithviraj in his directorial debut, Lucifer.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj recently began shooting for Shaji Kailas’s Kaapa, which also features Asif Ali, Manju Warrier and Anna Ben. Besides, he has some projects in the pipeline including Gold, Aadujeevitham and his upcoming directorial ventures, Tyson and Empuraan.
