Amala Paul has been cast as the lead in Athiran director Vivek's next feature, The Teacher, which has commenced shooting in Thangassery, Kollam. PV Shaji Kumar and Vivek write the script and dialogues.

Chemban Vinod Jose, Hakeem Shahjahan, Prashanth Murali, Nandu, Harish Pengan, Manju Pillai, Anumol, Mala Parvati and Vinitha Koshy are the other notable cast members.

Produced by VTV Films, The Teacher is presented by Varun Tripuraneni and Abhishek Ramishetti under the banner of Nut Mug Productions.

Anu Moothedath, who shot Athiran and Sufiyum Sujathayum, is the director of photography. Anwar Ali, Yugabharathi has penned the lyrics for which Don Vincent is composing the tunes.
