Saudi Vellakka to stream on Sony Liv from this date

Saudi Vellakka, the Tharun Moorthy directorial, opened to positive reviews when it hit the theatres recently. Now the makers revealed that the film will release on the Sony Liv platform on January 6. 

Billed as a social drama, the film follows the journey of an elderly woman who pursues a case filed against her for many years.  Saudi Vellakka stars Devi Varma, Lukman, Binu Pappu, Gokulan, Dhanya Ananya, Nilja K Baby, Vincy Aloshious, Remya Suresh, Sidhartha Siva and Riaa Saira in main roles. Several newcomers are also part of the cast.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Saran Velayudhan, editor Nishad Yusuf and music composer Paali Francis. It is produced by Sandip Senan under the Urvasi theatres banner, which previously backed the National award-winning film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum

The film also premiered at the Indian Panorama of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It was also an official selection at the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival, 2023.

Earlier, while speaking with us, director Tharun said, “The film's USPs are its humour and emotions that everyone can connect to, including youngsters."
