Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran's Empuraan to commence soon

The production of Empuraan, the sequel to the Mohanlal-starrer Lucifer, will commence soon. Supriya Menon, producer and wife of actor turned director Prithviraj Sukumaran, announced on Wednesday, marking the occasion of Chingam 1, the first day of the Malayalam New Year. 

Sharing a photo of scenarist Murali Gopy and director Prithviraj on Instagram, she wrote, "Empuraan commences soon. So now it’s Pati, Patni aur Woh for a year or more!"

Prithviraj made his directorial debut with Lucifer in 2019. Three months after the release, Mohanlal and Prithviraj announced the sequel titled Empuraan. The sequel will also be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner. 

Hinting the commencement of the project, Prithviraj too shared a team photo on Instagram, featuring himself along with Mohanlal, Murali Gopy and Antony Perumbavoor. In May this year, Murali Gopy clued that the scripting for Empuraan was completed. Prithviraj also directed Mohanlal in his second venture BroDaddy.
