Mohanlal's Monster heads for theatre release?

As reported earlier, Mohanlal is teaming up with Pulimurugan director Vysakh for an investigative thriller titled Monster. Though the film was initially planned as a direct OTT release, it is now being reported that the makers are eyeing a big screen release by the end of September or October first week during the Pooja holidays.

Monster, scripted by Udhayakrishna, has Mohanlal essaying the role of an investigative officer named Lucky Singh. Telugu actor Lakshmi Manchu and Honey Rose are the female leads. Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer and edits are done by Shameer Muhammed edits. Deepak Dev is composing the music. Mohanlal's frequent collaborator Antony Perumbavoor is backing the film under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

After wrapping up the shoot of his directorial debut Barroz, Mohanlal recently resumed works on Jeethu Joseph's Ram. His next release will be the Shaji Kailas directorial Alone. Scripted by Rajesh Jayaraman, the film is billed as a single-actor thriller set during the pandemic. It is most likely to have a direct digital premiere.
