Kerala State Film Awards ceremony postponed due to heavy rains

The 52nd Kerala State Film Awards ceremony, which was scheduled to be held on Wednesday (August 3), has been postponed indefinitely due to heavy rains in Kerala. The event was said to take place at the Nishagandhi auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram.

The minister for culture VN Vasavan stated that they decided to postpone the ceremony due to a red alert declared in districts including Thiruvananthapuram. He also noted that the new date for the program will be announced later.

The awards were announced on May 27. Biju Menon (Aarkkariyam) and Joju George (Nayattu, Freedom Fight) shared the Best Actor Award at the 52nd Kerala State Film Awards. Veteran actor Revathy won the Best Actress Award for her performance in Boothakaalam.

While Avasayuham won the Best Feature Film award and Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Hridayam bagged the Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value. Filmmaker Dileesh Pothan won the Best Filmmaker Award for Joji.
