Facing off against Yash’s Toxic, Hanuman Ansh has pulled off a massive upset at the box office. Right when it seemed destined to get pushed out of theatres entirely, the movie script-flipped its fortunes to gross an astonishing ₹316 crore worldwide. Producer Ragini Sona opened up about this unexpected box office fairytale.

Up against Yash’s mega-budget film, Hanuman Ansh scored an unprecedented victory. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, this modest-budget film has held strong on the big screen, pulling in massive numbers backed by overwhelming word-of-mouth.

Opening up about the journey, Ragini recalled the initial scare: "Right after release, our show counts crashed drastically. With heavyweights like Toxic and Awarapan 2 hitting the marquee, our screen count plunged from 350 down to just 25. Yet, surprisingly, our collections never dipped. That gave the team a glimmer of real hope."

"The film was practically on the verge of being booted from cinemas," Ragini noted. "That’s when director Vishal and I took a gamble, sat down with distributors, and pushed to secure more screens. Backing ourselves and holding our ground paid off in a huge way."

She added: "Honestly, we felt we wouldn't survive even a single day against a juggernaut like Toxic. The media and the public hyped it up as a high-stakes clash, but we didn't let fear dictate our move. We put our faith entirely in Lord Hanuman and pressed forward."

Hitting screens on August 7, Hanuman Ansh, starring Shobhinav Satya in the lead, has now raked in ₹316.30 crore worldwide. Winning over audiences across regions, the sleeper hit has proven once again that strong, content-driven storytelling can overpower any budget.
