The makers of the upcoming Kannada film Ganapathi Bappa Moriya have officially launched the title and a first-look motion poster. Billed as a political thriller, the film marks the directorial debut of Sanjay KK, who has also written the story and screenplay.
The team spent close to two years in pre-production, fine-tuning the script before taking the project on floors. The first leg of filming has been wrapped up, and the makers are gearing up to begin the second schedule next month.
The film features a young ensemble cast, led by Sumukha, who starred in Manada Kadalu, alongside Nischith Korodi, who previously worked in Tom and Jerry. The lineup also features Chandan RK, who starred in Bingo, and Suraj, known for his stint in Comedy Khiladigalu. Telugu actor Bandhavi Sridhar plays the female lead, while a host of newcomers selected through statewide auditions appear in key roles.
On the technical front, writer Prasanna, known for his work in the Shiva Rajkumar-starrer Ghost, is writing the dialogues. The music is composed by Midhun Mukundan, while Anand Meenakshi, known for his film Murphy, is handling the cinematography. The crew also includes production designer Guna, who previously worked on Kaatera, and editor Mahesh Togata.
Produced by Lawrence Joseph under the Royal Fly Entertainments banner, the project is moving ahead with its production schedule.
