The trailer of Amartha, produced by Dr Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty and Guru Hegde under the Pancharangi Films banner, has been unveiled. Directed by Guru Hegde and Vinay Preetham, the film brings Srinagar Kitty and Meghana Raj together in the lead, with the story promising a family drama that also carries a touch of nostalgia.
Entrepreneur Prakash Shetty and actor Darling Krishna launched the trailer, while actor-director Shivadhwaj attended the event as a guest. The gathering brought together the film’s principal cast and crew, including Usha Bhandari, Ashwa, Anuradha Bhat, music director Pancham Jeeva, background score composer Sridhar V. Sambhram and distributor Ramesh Babu.
Producer Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty said the film is designed as a theatrical outing for families. “Prakash Shetty and Darling Krishna, who are my friends, have released our trailer. I thank them and the entire team. Amartha is a film that the whole family can watch together, and it arrives in theatres on September 18. I request audiences to watch it in theatres,” he said.
For Guru Hegde, Amartha marks a new phase in a 25-year association with the film industry. He has taken on both production and direction for the first time, with Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty backing the project. “We have made a good film and are releasing it on September 18. If audiences enjoy it and recommend it to others, that word of mouth will be our biggest success. With everyone’s support, make Amartha a success,” he said.
Srinagar Kitty believes the film has a strong emotional hook for audiences who grew up in a different era. “Amartha is a good film, and Guru Hegde and Vinay Preetham have made a family-oriented film that can be watched together. Those who see it may find themselves revisiting their SSLC days,” he said.
The film also marks the third collaboration between Srinagar Kitty and Meghana Raj after Bahuparak and Buddhivantha 2. With more than 28 artistes in the cast, the actor says the team plans to take the film closer to audiences before its September 18 release, with promotional interactions lined up in Shivamogga, Mangaluru and Chikkamagaluru.
Meghana Raj, who was the first artiste to be signed for the film, credits Guru Hegde for taking the project forward. “He is one of the main reasons the film has reached this stage. This is my third film with Srinagar Kitty after Bahuparak and Buddhivantha 2. A number of artistes with theatre backgrounds have acted in the film, and it was a pleasure working alongside them,” she said.
Vinay Preetham thanked everyone involved in bringing the film together and contributing to its final form. With the trailer now out, Amartha is set for its theatrical release on September 18.
